I got the Anniversary DVD of Jaws and, while it's great to see this film in all its audio/visual glory, I was dissapointed a little at the features.

The outtakes and cut scenes were interesting but the Documentary I thought was distinctly lacking. BBC2 had a Jaws night a year or two back and the documentary they did (using several of the same interview sources) was a lot more in depth and revelatory than the documentary on the DVD.

However, my main gripe was the lack of a commentary from Spielberg on movie. As far as extra features go I tend to find the commentary's the most interesting and insightful. 'Making of' shows tend to be little more than promotional material but a commentary is often a lot more honest about the film-making procedure. Given Spielberg's ambivalence regarding directing Jaws it would have been a fascinating addition and the topping to an excellent DVD.

I know wot u mean :( The laserdisc that was out a while ago had the same Documentary except it was an hour longer,it also had more storyboards.I spose they could not fit all the extras onto the 1 disc. But they could of easily put out a 2 disc set or maybe a DVD 18. Commentary would of been great. Maybe future Spielberg releases will have it on them,But JP and LW don't.

Do you have a R1 or R2 copy? Both regions need to allow for additional language audio tracks and subtitles, but R2 normally has more. It's common for the R1 release to have more space for additional features than the R2 release.

Well I Have the Region 1 version and there is no commentary on that.I don't think Spielberg ever did a commentary for Jaws on Laserdisc or DVD.

Mine's R2 - From what I've heard I don't think there's any difference in the extra features on both discs. Languages I've no idea about.

Aparantly Speilberg dosen't do commentrys. So i suggest drinking a bottle of vodka before hand and doing your own.
