Hi there,

Most ppl bring their own pc, as all their configs are on it. We are not sure how much PC's will be for hire at i6, we are working on that. Dont be ashamed of your pc there are ppl with PC's from PCWorld :P

or you could hire a 19" IBM monitor

or if your lucky & happen to notice one lying around you could quietly take it up to your place and use it for the weekend, (like i did) :E

Knew there was a reason why I shouldn't have bought a full tower case and 17 inch monitor.

It'll be a bit of a g_t to transport down there.

yes Parental or friend perhapes your own car transport does help alot, if IBM do offer moer monitors for rent, then transporting a mini-tower in a large sleeping bag padded Suit case is possible, and has been done by many people before now !

As for me, me large tower case fits quiet nicley behind the driving seat :-)

Hehehe

So is i6 all about whose got the most independant looking PC then :) Laugh at all the high street store buyers... Just an alternative to willy comparisons I guess :E

Anyway for the record my poor old Celeron 333 with ati rage pro and Voodoo 2 add on card :) Will be shuffling quietly in the back door trying to hide its Packard Bell markings :) hehe.

I am by no means a newbie but I love convenience and it was so much easier for me to go down high street and hand over cash and be given PC rather than waiting for mail order bits to arrive and spend a horrible afternoon with a screwdriver and a motherboard manual :) I have since upgraded to DVD and added the Voodoo 2 and upped it to 128mb ram oh and added a CDRW.

The only drawbacks to my poor system?

On board graphics! I will avoid them in future like the plague I've had 2 PC's and they've both had onboard graphics and its been a pain both times.

No Way to upgrade processor. Not so much of a problem really cos I replace my PC every 2 years anyway :) just another 6 months to go with old faithful :)

So I'd be interested in what else is wrong with PC's from high street oh apart from the pose factor. How you can pose with an anti static wristband on I'll never know :E

Oh just to try and stay ontopic a bit... I would like to hire a monitor I guess so I hope it is sorted soon... easier than carting my monitor with its integral speakers (don't tell me people will laugh at that too :))
