lo - think weve got a virus going round at work atm. getting lots of e-mails via outlook2000 with an attachment called lifestages.txt - 42kb txt file ??? just wondered if anyone else has come accross this or has some info ?

Hi M8 I work for BT and yes thats the VIRUS that we had 5 weeks ago.

If you E-Mail me I will send you the fix to kill it, otherwise its a REBUILD of the Harddrive.

we've been getting this for the last couple of months on and off.

It's similar to lovebug because it :

a) mails itself to your entire address book
and
b) is exploiting a scripting security hole in Windows again

but that's about all I know

ITS whats called a WORM VIRUS

They are some of the worst you can get but know dought there are others, the fix is to run the file that I sent you from a bootable floppy and after the name TYPE CLEAN and this will attempt to remove it.

If that fails its a FDISK and FORMAT as there is nothing out there that BT/CHEYENNE/DR Solomans or MACAFEE can do to KILL this one.

Thanks for the file Cobra by the time our tech support had responded to their e-mails yesterday they had fixed the problem but hx for the prog anyway ill keep it incase it gets onto my puter.
