was gonna put this on test postings but this forum is better

my votes go to:-

best: the young ones- infantile humour not taken too far- like in bottom- always provides entertainment no matter the amount of viewings

worst: where the heart is!!!!!!! i hate it! my family are always watching it agggggggh.
its such soppy, sentimental, make-you-sick-cos-it-doesnt-really-happen-cack!
and that kid!!!! is it a boy or a girl??????????????????????????????

woooo, glad i got that off my chest!

Ah good taste in my books - young ones was great but would have to think on what I felt was best.

Worst - where the heart is gets my vote pure bucket material - also vicar of dibley or sommit like that

While I am thinking of it Friends is a bad one. I feel the Americans cant quite touch the spot where comedy is concerned

But I did quite like Cheers :)

Friends has just gone on FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR to long.
Me luvs Da Ali G show.....ownz. But i think the next seris is gonna be a lil disappointing. Same with Goodness grasious meh! First one was good second one was not.
Frasiure (sp) is funny.....

but best has to go to have i got news for j00. ROFL me wubs dat show.

And worst has to go to happy days (if that applys). The opening music summs it up......

However many R's you use, Friends has not gone on too long. After 6 series it still manages to be consistently funny, although it's not quite as good as it was in series 1-4.

The Simpsons is also great, although that has gone on too long - for the first 7 years or so it was great, but when you've done over 200 episodes you start to run out of ideas..

As for the worst, there's too much to choose from - 99% of tv is cack - but shows like ER are terminally overrated and, more to the point, crap.

Best - Probably Room 101 or Have I Got News For You. Both are consistantly funny. The Simpsons is also good

Gone on To Long - Most programes really. Friends namely.

Worst - Most soaps and so called 'Heart Warming Dramas' *shudder*.

Best: Farscape

-reaper-'s handy hint of the day: If you don't like it, don't watch it. :)

Shame that Mary Whitehouse woman never took that advice! :E

I liked red dwarf, liked the last seris.

Especially when they smegged up time, and are on a caution from the captain, Rimmer and Lister are in his office, and the fight they had with the fat guy catchs up with them, and they start flying all over the place...

I was laughing so loud, it hurt, ahhhh that was great!

I dont really watch TV...normally reading books, working , or on the internet.

Best - Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Worst - Anything on the "SHOP!" channel on OnDigital. My Gran lives with us and ALL day and I mean ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL day she watches the SHOP! channel, only time it changes is when she watches Neighbours, Home and away, Frost, Coronation Street, Eastenders, Or when I get to watch Buffy, or when we hide the remote control so she cant switch the tv on. *evil laugh*

Best: Buffy (don't tell me you never saw that one a mile away).
Worst: Most things which have a happy ending.

I disagree with everyone's comments about Friends going on too long though. Some (that is to say, some) sitcoms get better the longer they last.

Red Dwarf is also good. Eight series now.
Simpsons: It's been running for ten years.

Me also like red dwarf fav episod is de one one that starts with the cat dreaming it the last episod of series two-me thinks-any ways he dreams that he his this singer and lister and alphabet head (rimmer) are his back up singers. He talks about how he always talks arse when he tries to pull. perfect song for the first date thread go have a look its funny but don't laugh at me or i'll send the lads round!!!!

Bottom, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, great comedy....

Friends, Frasier, etc... how is this cr*p funny.

Canned laughter and no intelligent scripts what so ever.

the only good american sitcom is The Simpsons, and that's because Matt Groening is intelligent and has a good sense of humor.

I like some of the american stuff.
admitedly some of it is contrived and predictable, sentimental crap...but sometimes they really get it spot on.
I mean for example one I saw recently...
Monica got stung with a jelly fish and Chandler had to pee on her foot...was very funny I thought.
when they owned up it all went into melodrama and they seemed to parady the accidental gamg killings...it's all amusing I find and the timing of those actors is great. That's the differene for me, timing is everything.

an old housemate of mine HATED friends and similar...
but he like Birds of a Feather!!!! Bah.

Dusk:

Hello Ted

I've got rickets!

where?

everyone else:

I hate Michael Barrymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he is not funny, he is repulsive, like a vile disease.

in some american shows, friends for example, all a character has to do is open a door, and there are screams of canned laughter put in. It's that kind of cr*p that makes it repulsive.

oh yeah.

Stressed Eric and the simpsons are cool.

South Park is becoming tiresome, with the same old "They Killed Kenny" jokes every episode.

Best - Python. Some of it missed the mark and the last series was awful, but when it was funny nothing else could touch it .

Worst - Antiques Roadshow. Not particually because of the programme (although I have come to the conclusion that Hugh Scully is Satan), but because it's opening credits meant it was time to do my weekend homework when I was school.

Although I left school over ten years ago, whenever I here that opening music it still means the weekend is officially over :{.
