WP Direct won't connect ???

Everytime I try yo connect I get a 691 error

The computer you're dialing in to cannot establish a Dial-Up Networking connection. Check your password, and then try again.

Anyone help me out here, I had to re-install and before this it was working fine. I know I had the correct log-in and password, and I also tried with no password and just Wireplay as the log-in, but still no go.

hi!

that error is a username/password error as u have said, try using 'user' as the username, and nothing at all (leave the box blank) for the password in the dial-up settings.

that should do it, if i remember rightly. if i havent, give us a prod here and i'll find someone that does remember rightly !!

Thanks for the reply, but nope, that did'nt work either, still getting the same error, i've tried deleting the Dial-up and starting from scratch, but no good.

Also, I get a message saying make sure CLI is enabled, huh, I never got that before, ever, what is it and how to I check / enable it ???.

ahhh!! the old cli.....

you need to have call line identifier enabled to log on.

if you are on a bt phone, then prefixing 1470 should do this, if not you may need to contact your phone company to find out how to do it. for lots more details see this thread:

wooohooo, thanks, now it works.

When the hell did WP start to use CLI, I never had that trouble about 3 weeks ago, used to dial straight through, thats what threw me.

Anyway, thanks to the link to that CLI thread, helped me right out.
