Here's a good question for all you people!

As I am sure most of you are aware this disc was supposed to be a double sided, dual layered disc, right?

Wrong, I got mine this last week from Play (£17.99 thanks very much!) and it turned out to be 2 discs, one marked side 1, the other suprisingly marked side 2.

The funny thing is that someone I know got there's before me and got one disc? I still have all the extras, got the metal slip case, the book etc (it was even marked with a sticker stating 'over 6 hours of footage on 2 dvd's'

Whilst I do not have any problems with the disc at all I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why the change from 1 disc to 2? and has anyone else got 2 or is it just me?

Cheers for now

Zell

They couldn't make the single DVD-18 fast enough to satisfy the overwhelming demand. So they released the double disc set that you have. :)

examples of the DVD 18 Technology are quite rare and there is only one factory in the us that makes dvd 18 discs so naturally when T2 was released they could not cater for the demand so they started making 2 disc sets.

Personally, I prefer two one-sided discs over one double-sided. Double sided, I'm always worried about getting cack on the play surface.

They couldn't make them fast enough plus 8 out of 10 discs had errors on them (they were thrown out).

Only 10,000 dvd-18 discs (dual layer double layer) were made, so thoughs who have them (including me :E ) have a collecters item :)

8 out of 10 write-offs? Bloody hell, that's a bit of a balls up, innit!

Is this a common problem with Dual-layer, Double-sided, or just an unfortunately bad run?

There were only limited numbers of both the dvd-18 and dvd-9 version of t2 ue and as such they will both be collectors items. I guess the difference would be that the dvd-9 versions are more likely to stay in perfect condition unlike the dvd-18 version. ;)
