The art of conversation these days is surely going downhill
Lets not eh? The longest thread was over 1000, anmd that took ages in a very well populated forum
I got stung by a wasp the other day. It really hurt too.
There, if thats not the beginnings of a conversation/1000 post thread I dunno what is. :)

On the subject of wasps - have you noticed that they seem very rare these days compared to a few years back when they would swarm around litter bins :)
Hope your sting wasn't too bad sjs - I used to put vinegar on stings :)
OO me hates wasps, if i see one, i run for miles :)
I can handle cruise weapons, torpedo's, bullets, supersonic anti ship missiles that are ment to kill me, but err just can't handle a wasp.
Maybe the wasp is the perfect weapon?
I believe that I hold the record for the longest thread. I may be wrong though. About 1050 i think. It was a genuine one too. Not one of these, lets see how many posts we can get threads, ohh no. C'mon genius, challenge me if you dare. ;)
I spent the rest of the day ill actually, me and wasp stings don't mix apparently. I got stung while I was asleep too, it was such a great way to wake up.
I did want to tie the wasp to a stick and burn it at the stake, but by the time I found it hours later it was dead already. Probably suicide because it knew what I was gonna do to it. :)

Poor sjs - hope you don't have to cope with beesting then - they are evil and you gotta pull the sting out :(
I been on your thread Dragon but not posted cuz Arby patrols - I believe you found a place where you can play against each other - does not wp provide for you? And if not why not :)

Any time before seven pm, usually. Nocturnal, lately.
Anywayz do wp provide for Pokemon as that place Dragon found?
No. They have a (somewhat flawed) Pokémon website, but there's no real interactive aspect as with PBS (the site you referred to).

Well aint it time the Pokemon forum got their arses into gear and demanded it - like start a petition or something - I am sure that would be a reasonable request.
It is time you - as moderator - demanded what is due :)

Oh is that what I'm here for?
Now that Gameplay has a full-scale gaming development branch, maybe they'll do something similar. They have other simple online games, and this would be very popular if done properly.
It's a good idea. Since Dusk is the relevant person to suggest it to anyway, let's see what she says before going all partisan.

If you don't stand up for youself you are never heard - well that is my experience :)
You have enough peeps on that forum to demand to be treated like the other online gaming community - you just need to make the effort :)

I am probably thinking of political approach - asking gets you nowhere - so are you saying that the Pokemon community has not asked before :)
I earlier on had to fight my way to get petrol and couldn't get unleaded anywhere in my area - and tbh I am glad the uk has taken the french attitude - I know this is a different subject matter - but the principle is the same :)

Dusk isn't your average sleazy, lying authority figure though, hmmm? She deserves a little more respect than our illustrious leaders, I think. :)

Ah, a decent debate opportunity emerges. I disagree - actions like this harm the people to get at the state. While they may be effective eventually, they're also hugely costly to business (short-term) and inconvenient to ordinary people. :(
Squirrel

I work for a business and I also am an ordinary person - tbh the price of petrol is horrendous - at one time the price rise went up per gallon but now it goes up per litre but at the same rate as per gallon :hmph:
I agree that holding a government to ransom is not the way to go about things but if they do not take any notice then maybe they should be made to take notice. With the price rise in oil the government has been receiving far more revenue (extra) than was expected so methinks they can give some of it back - figures thrown around tonight could mean a 9p reduction per litre. People at one time used to work in their local area but were told to get on their 'bike' eg to look further afield - which they did. If you live in city it is probably ok and you can use the public transport but tbh the infrastructure of public transport is appalling when you live an hour's drive or more from where you work:)
A little bit of inconvenience for the 'ordinary person' will be tolerated on the petrol front. And as for business -I can only speak for the one that I work for - but we are in agreement with the situation as in the long run or short as I hope it will be - we will save money :)
The feedback I have got back at petrol stations - where they are frustrated to say the least round my area - is an overwhelming support for the actions being taken :)
Well my start to petrol debate :)

*grits teeth upon realising he agrees*
Damn it. Oh well - different approach then.
we are in agreement with the situation as in the long run or short as I hope it will be - we will save money
That's all very well, if the action is actually successful. From what I've heard so far, the action taken has been comparatively piecemeal (as against the French method) and the Government isn't giving an inch. For example:
Reuters:
Ray Holloway, director of the Petrol Retailers Association, said the fact that 30 filling stations in the northwest had run out of fuel -- out of 1,200 in the region -- did not mean Britain was running out of petrol.
Reuters, quoting Gordon Brown:
I think people do understand that in Britain decisions are made in budgets. They are not made as a result of blockades
Smug git... *cough* If the action remains comparatively piecemeal, the people directly involved in it, ie. those carrying out the blockade, are surely going to have to give in to financial strain before the Government starts listening? In this way, the action could well end up being bad for everyone. British industry just doesn't seem to have the same resolution as the French.

Um well I guess I'm close enough. I've sent an email out to the relevant parties and I'll chase them up in a while to see what they think. If I have any news I'll let you know (but don't hold your breath as things move slowly the higher up the ladder you get :) )

I like wabbits...
I'll tell you what really gets me with all this petrol stuff - is the fact that they're making one rule apply to all which isn't fair.
If the government want to reduce pollution, reduce traffic in cities then fine, increase the price of petrol in cities and put money into improving the public transport system.
But in rural areas - taking where I'm from in Cornwall as an example, unemployment is already a problem - you HAVE to drive to get to work if you live in a rural area, but people can't afford to work because by the time they pay for the petrol to get them to work and back, at least 90 minutes driving per day, their earnings hardly pay for the petrol!!
Take public transport you might say - public transport....ummm....what's that?? If I was carless and living where I used to live, I'd have to leave home at 6am to walk the 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, wait for the once every 3 hours bus, go via every village on the way making my journey about 2 hours long, and would have to make sure I left work in plenty of time to catch a rare bus and it's 2 hour journey back to the village from which I would again have to walk 3 miles to get home.
Not really an option is has to be said!
Blurdy petrol price increases...whinge whinge moan moan.
