Whats this "WON authentication required" stuff that stops me connecting to DM and OP4 servers in HalfLife?

before you can connect to any half life servers, your cd key is first of all checked with the WON servers to verify it is a legit copy of half life. if you dont get WON auth, then you cannot get onto a half life server.

i take it you are not getting won auth?

check you have entered your cd key correctly and have the up to date patches for half life/ hl mods.
