Hi, just got my MS Intellimouse USB. I have always noticed that with mice especially if u use them a lot they get all gunked up. Ne ways to clean em? to maximise performance?

Yeah a cotton bud will do the trick, clean your mouse every 2 weeks or so then you won't have any crap building up inside.

There are some cleaning kits you can get. they're essentially a ball covered in the velcro hooks material and you get a mat of the velcro fluff. Roll the mouse about and it scours the **** off your rollers.

Or you could save the shekels for a pint and use your fingernail.

Ihad a brand new ball-mouse thingy and it was totally caked is crud within 2 months. I would heartily recommend paying up for the intelli explorer. No moving parts - no ball and no special mouse mat. Very accurate and it stays nice and clean. You should be able to pick one up for about 35 quid. Seems steep for a mouse but you want need to buy another one for a very long time...

Cotton buds as suggested already, plus tweezers (to get the stuck down gunk on the rollers), i'm ordering another Intellimouse Explorer today, no more faffing about cleaning the mouse;)

Then you shouldn't pick your nose or arse before playing then should you! Or use a different finger than your scrolly finger.

;) Hint: heavy dose of sarcasm immunity required.
