With me agreeing (for once) with Gary Neville about who should really only be eligable for playing in the champions league, it's good to see that Man Utd, Rangers and Arsenal all got off to good starts.

I can only feel sorry for Leeds, but even with a full strength side, I honestly didn't fancy their chances against Barcelona in the Nou Camp at all although maybe they were just lucky to get out of Spain with the score they did leave with.

Having watched the Rangers game on Tuesday, Ronald de Boer really is an outstanding player when he gets the ball and himself and Michael Mols really did make the Stum Gratz defenders work their butts off. I only pray and hope Rangers really show their true form again against Monaco next week. That game could really determine what Rangers could do in the league.

As for Georghie Hagi....... do the Romanians and Galatasaray rely on him too much? He got sent off in Holland, in the UEFA Cup final against Arsenal and again last night. The team just seemed to crumble without him.

Oh well, hopefully next weeks games are just as successful for all British Clubs involved.

Hmmmm, a mixed bag of results there. The important thing is to get everything in perspective: ie Rangers win looked impressive - but they were playing Sturm Graz (not exactly world beaters!) who are probably the equivalent of Dunfermline!! Nice to see Michael Mols back tho.... :)

The same Stum Gratz that Man Utd only beat about 3-0.

Some Dunfermline team that

The main thing is the 3 points and the performance only adds to confidence - not the type of team they were playing.

What would you rather get your campain off to?

A 2-0 defeat to Valencia or a 5-0 win against Stum Gratz? I know mine would be the latter. :)

Rangers were brilliant, i think Michael Mols made a helluva difference with his ability to hold up the ball, turn defenders, actually keep the fecking thing and his good passing, hardly ever gives it away. De Boer was brill too.

The other teams defense was murder though, but its all about confidence in games eh and Rangers fecked theres up from the start.

I hope Rangers do well in the ch league but their defense is abit of a weakness and might be suspect if they are tested. But aslong as Mols stays fit i think they got a good chance. After all they would have surely made it through to the 2nd league stage last season if he didnt get injured.

Yeah, the Rangers defence is still a bit shakey (and they have played about 10 odd games already), and it showed when Amoruso made a hash of turning around and caused Dundee to equalise.

Personally though, if Rangers hold their own against Monaco and get a result in Turkey, I could see Rangers getting into the next phase. :)
