Dedicated server ?

Im happy just got wireless 64k line today-
d/l 20-40k/s :)
ping on WP servers nearly as be4 on isdn : 100-130 on gspy
all this is nice, but here is my prob:

I can start SOF server, but nobody see me, because i have non-public (hidden) ip. It is good for security, but not as good for running my server :furious:
Is there any way how I get my server visible ?

you need a real public IP to run a server; perhaps if you ask nicely your ISP will set up a fixed translation for you and allocate you a public IP, but until then you're stuck.

Address translation = no servers

this is one reason why ADSL, Cable Modem and [as you demonstrate] some other networks suck.

soz m8. Buy a real ISDN line...

thx Slash for your reply. Ill do what you said and ask my isp for public ip, I know its possible - but it will cost something. Im just coming to wireless from my old 64k isdn line, and I must say wireless is a dream. Dont have any lag and d/l speed is amazing.
