I thought it was a self policed thing and there was no official rule ??
most comps are 10 or 12 pilot fights - there is always a pilot cap.
If you have 25 pilots turn up, then you'ld have to sub the whole squad at half time..... Thats why most squads try not to get too big - makes choosing a team a nightmare as you always end up not picking someone and hurting their feelings..... This sort of causes a natural limit on squad size.... People have sugegsted having B wings or B teams... but if they were to attempot to enter a comp they would have to do so as a seperate squad and multisquading is harder to police in that situation.
I think Tempests are well under 25 at the moment - but we normally get over subscribed for matches cause everyone wants to fly.....
Still it's better to have to use subs than to end up under strength :) IMHO....

ok ty,
yeh i kno what u mean about picking the squad.
im too much of a softy and find it hard telling ppl they arent playing in that peticular game, or that they are sub :(
usually i ask for ppl to volunteer for it, and of course the ppl who are willing to sit out are the guys u want to fly

Vortex, that's probably every C/O's nightmare. I wouldn't like to do it TBH.
/me slaps stace around a bit with an empty petrol can
I asked a few months ago when I was the Guardians X/O and we had about 40 pilots! Mac said there wasn't an official limit.

yeah, but this is just being selfish.
How many squads are struggling to find recruits, and can't field the full 10 ppl in matches, and then some squads could field a side 2 times over, and its not fair :(
IMHO i think a cap of 20 pilots would be good.

agreed m8. a limit on the number of squad pilots shoulsd be administerd as a squad does not ned 40+ members as you can only play a certain amount in games [according to the size of the oposition obviously] and people who get told they cant play all of a sudden think thaty they are no longer n e good for the squad and egt peeeved with there CO and asks continous questions about why they dont play
\me runs off to go out side for the first time today as i am completly and utterly bored and im fecking hot
. i think we have all moved country or something LOL
I'm sure I read it somewhere, cant find it now :(

There is the other aspect, which comes to the fore at this time of year particularly... some of our younger Munks have been lucky enough to be offered courses of study at educational establishments which will require them to live away from the Temple. Now although they usually protest, scream, shout and get all hysterical... Master Gelp usually pursuades them to leave the Temple and try the life of a poor student for a while (relative luxury to us Munks!).
We can manage to help them take this first step by promising that we'll always keep a prayer mat warm for them (and a plane of their choice tanked up in the Temple Hangar). A place in the squad if they should ever be able to come back to us for the holidays, etc. This usually placates the scared young Munks, and they finally leave the Temple, their packed lunches wrapped in handkerchiefs ... to walk down the lane to the Bus stop with a smile on their faces.
This does mean that our pilot roster tends to exaggerate the true number of active Munks. I think this is probably the same for most squads.

Ah Dragonweedy, you truly have grasped the art of the written word. Now stop watching those Kung Fu reruns and get back in the kitchen.
Oh for the luxury of having to tell someone they can't fly in a match! We only have 11 members and at least 3 of them aren't very active, but you try telling that to the kids of today...
