well i dunno how many of you have seen these as there are so many anime series out there and these are less famous ones..
anyway..
thunder sub, this was the first anime i ever saw waaaay back in 1991..and i'm still kicking myself for missing the LAST episode as i saw the WHOLE thing!!!! anyway, this was about a super-sub built to take on the aliens who were trying to take over earth (they had a thing for water - i think - even though they breathed and walked on land)..and it had a mini-sub within itself it too...
thene there was force five..now this was five different animes..one different one for each weekday..
monday - gaiking
tuesday - dangaurd ace
wednesday - starvengers
thursday - grandizer
friday - spacekeeters (i think the US name for this was Starzingers)
they were all cool..especially spacekeeters/starzingers and grandizer!! all had robots of different kinds and stuff..gaiking was the usual one major mech controlled by one guy, but it/he lived with a whole crew on a super ship which was built like a dragon!!
danguard ace was interesting...two people could control this one mech..or one could be on standby!!
starvengers was different..three planes had to join together to form the mech, depending on what order would form a different mech!!
grandizer was my second favourite...alien (looks like a human), fights on earth..had a really cool mech!! the mobile version would be inside a flying saucer and when he wanted he could seperate from the saucer and the saucer would then control itself or he could send it instructions from his mech!!
spacekeeters/starzingers was sooo coool...no mechs, no nothing!! just three guys who protect this princess on a mission in space to save her planet. they have their own personal weapons and mini planes of their own. the princess travels on the ships and these guys do all the fighting for her...sooo cooool.. :E
and then there was ninja robots...long but i loved it so much i went through the WHOLE series three times. i think it was about 50 or 60 episodes long...the mechs were coool beyond belief. and this was the first anime i saw for the characters rather than action. the mechs couldn't just be controlled like that...you had to connect with it mentally..stir it up like..hte hero accidentally get's involved in the first episode and he get's inside the "golden lion" mech and just as he's about to be killed by an enemy mech, the one he's hiding in stirs to...and it did his body motions to the dot!! fortunately he was good at ninja :)!!
the other two mechs were the "purple dragon" and the "scarlet falcon"!! the way they transformed would be if they were getting battered a small, superfast, super strong mech would show up from nowhere and fuse with them (only one though) and then they would turn into their respective namesakes. and then there was the other superstrong and super fast mech..both combine and fly into the ship of the princess and turn THAT into something..although i only got one glimpse of it as it happened in the last episode!!! :E
the two small, superfast, superstrong ones finally got their human controllers (one the good guy and one the bad guy who had defected..loved the princess, hero came aboard..jealous..yadda yadda..) but it connected to them directally both physically and mentally!!!
sorry to go on like that...got a little self indulgent there..but like i said earlier, anyone seen these or ring any bells??
