but today a man from homechoice came to my door
offering me 1gb downstream adsl access for..
ermm... £20 a month
with £80 installation, very nice..
but I've never ever heard of them! they were also offering tv adsl packages

anyone want to shed any light?

Ok ive got tons of info regarding homechoices FastInternet service, most of its from my mates Homechoice expereince though.

http://www.homechoice.co.uk

Its £80 installation, they provide you with a white BT ADSL modem box, and also a Phone socket with "Digital" etc written on it. Its 20 quid per month afterwards with a 115K connection which is 24/7 free, normal ADSL rules.

My mate pulls about 8K on average and sometimes 9-10k max depending on servers.

However if you take out there TV package(6 quid minumun) its only £40 installation for there FastInternet option, BUT make sure if there installing the TVpackage and state u want there Fastinternet service otherwise they wont install it at the same time, and charge u another £40 when they come round next (my mate did this doh !)

They have a excellent helpdesk which runs like 8am-10pm and although im no customer (yet) they email me back within minutes, which I think is the best tech support ever and there shy on giving out info:)

The 115K that they give you is garranteed so thats your speed, and they havent had any real serious problems, but of course its still a new service, buts its always fast/stable.

There was a rumour a few weeks ago that they would be upgrading there speed of there Fast internet service...

My mates mate who spoke to an engineer who was fixing his Homechoice line mentioned that Homechoice would be upgrading there speed to 256K in November, and then 512K next year in February.

BUT I cant say if this is 100% so ive already emailed them off should hear about it tommorow, if its true about 256k and then 512K in future, ill take out Homechoice ASAP !
