I have heard a few comments about Gameplay changing all Powerplay Server into open 1s. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

This is goign to be a load of bollox. Now im a Half lifer but im guessing Quakers and all other WP games like UT and err... well some non FPS - :) - arnt going to liek it either. it annyoing enough when you get german/french people who dont listen to you in the open server, but at least i could always go to the PP server to play decently.

i mainly play HL:Firearms, and this suffer from a little tKing and as 4/6 of the server r open you get a lot of fckign germans. Now these gemrans r f00ls and go around wiht an unbalenced weapon (the vollomer/mc 1b) ****ing pisising us all of. so i say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yes ive been hearing of this "all open server" hing for along time now, and i see the time is drawing neer.
Like PoD says over in FA we have ALOT of problems with TKers and none english speaking players, leading to me kicking them becouse i cant communicate with them, the open servers is going to cause a huge amount of chaos, spesh in the big mods (TFC/CS).
I say a HUGE NOOOO to this project you have, im sure im most certainly not the only person to think this.
Us good old WP users and BTI payers have been useing these here servers and forums for along time now, i think we have some credit and a say for the future of OUR gameing.
I would like to know alittle more about this "cunning plan" of yours.
/me finks its better to leave the 2 seperate and maybe me finks that u should just make more openplay servers

haha. useless. its only good if u r stuck with BTi, cos i ping 220 on normal servers with BTi, 190 on PP with BTi, but i get 170 on normal servers with NTL, so why bother? I say open them up to every1.
It gets on my nervs when ur in an Openplay srv and a dude goes

I like the idea of playing with foreign players but I hate the practicallity issue of trying to explain that team killing is a cultural taboo in England in Syrian its damned tuff playing and reading a dictionary.
Ideal : Wonderful premise
Practically : Never seems to quite work.

to ppl who want a nice quiet place without TKing and wierdos: get in a clan, join the wireplay ladder, and use the clan server. Open to all, but obviously no lamers :). Or just drag an admin (eg. me) with u to kick out all the germans and tkers and wierdos on a public server.

perhaps you should all take a note out of the Q3F's book (and probably other TF games, I can't say for sure not having realy played the others). The Q3F community, whatever you may think of it or the game, is pretty close and very international. Americans, swedes, fins, germans, UK ppl, well all know each other, talk to each other, clans are hardly ever composed of one country, usually spanning europe and the UK or all over america. As a result Q3F servers depend on the multinetnational aspect of gaming and people form all over enjoy them. We have our slight problems with TKers etc, but I have not yet had to kick or shout at people who don't understand english.
Open servers make for just as good play and you get to face off against l33t euro clan members and clans can use the servers irrespective of location :)

Something Ive noted in playing In airattack against germans and clan base for cs is that most europeans and scandinavians have a very good grasp on english , where as its actually the english who are the poor ones linguistically and often only speak english .

o.k your missing the point of my post!!!!
TFC, Q3F,UT ETC r all VERY balenced. Firearms, is not. there in early beta stages. things have to br worked out. And german (mainly - espically 100 ping and below) tend to use the vollomer. Basically its like having TFCs HWG in the middle of a slaughter house with a few added Auto cannons for the sake of it.
The fa teams refuse to remove it even thoguh 2 patchs have been since it was upgraded, and EVERy one wants it removed. the problem is these are ENGLISH servers, so the admins main language is ENGLISH. and when admins and normall players ask them to stop using it - no response.

Yes the PP servers arnt used enough, me thinks ill get them converted into passworded open servers.
The mod is huge now, and getting bloody bigger, hooraah for FA ;)
But i do agree, germans suck at FA LOL.
I have actually changed my mind and all should be open play in my view now actually.

why the **** shouldnt someone use a weopon thats in the game?
its not cheating is it? just live with it ffs.
and obviosly if these ppl are using that weopon not "EVERYONE" wants it taken out of the game, just ppl u know want it out.
your as bad as the muppets that constantly moan about snipers in TFC.
oh and the tfc servers have been open for a week or so now and i havent witnessed any annoying krauts as opposed to all the annoying english spamming/tk'ing muppets that have been on the public servers for months now.
also the UT servers have been open for a fair while now i think.
