Right, sorry, but there nowhere else to post this really, and I was wondering if anyone could help?

Right, I've 2 computers, both with Netgear FA310TX Ethernet Cards, joined by a 4 way hub.

Now we'd had them working fine and dandy before, but now, they wont even talk to each other, not even find each other. I've tried re-instaling the actual hardware, the software, and all of the protocols, but I a feeling taht there some sort of software thing taht I need to setup.

This is very vague, but it could be anything. Could anyone shed any light on the matter, any suggestions??

Cheers peeps

Have you tried different ports in the hub? some hubs have an 'uplink' facility which acts as a cross over port. this port will not work if connected to your network card. there may be a button you press to deactivate/activate it. Does your hub/cards have any lights on them if so what are they showing? If you are not sure which port if any has the uplink use ports 2 and 3 as they probably won't

BTW probably should be in the help desk forum :E

The "Hardware" forum tends to be used as a general "anything technical" forum, hence the suggestion from mr_grumpy_man. Lots of techies hang out in there so it's a good place for any question.

Help Desk forum is really for wireplay issues only, but they might have been able to help.

But as you fixed it now....
