How can i tel if my R1 copy of American Psycho is uncut, it says so on the box, but i'm not too sure?

Prior to the theatrical release of American Psycho, director Mary Harron agreed to shorten one scene in order to avoid the dreaded NC-17 rating. The controversial scene--in which Christian Bale's character engages in wild sexual activity with two prostitutes--has been restored to its original pre-release length for the film's unrated release on VHS and DVD. Apart from the shortening of this scene, the R-rated and unrated versions of the film are identical.

Finally got to see it myself this week too.

Bloody cinema refused to show it when it came out - *******s! :(

I agree, good film. Not as good as the book but, hey, what is?

By the way, is it just me or does the thought of Leonardo DiCaprio in this role just make you think - 'No ****ing WAY!!'

Brilliant film, but (and this is a question you have no doubt heard before) did he kill all those people or did he imagine it? this would change the mood of the film totally if he did'nt.
As for whether it was cut or not, I assumed that when an unrated DVD is released, that it would be the full version.
(well thats what I'm expecting with Pitch Black anyway)

I think there's no real answer, although its hinted at in the extras that he imagined it.

I'd go with that too. Too much happens and he says such far out stuff to people for them not to notice....

I didn't like the film, I thought Christian Bale's performance was too camp, it reminded me of Adam West (i think that was his name) the guy who used to play batman in the ancient tv series, also I have the Canadian version can anyone tell me if this is uncut?

I believe the film was never cut in Canada (and ironically the UK) so you should be alright.

In the book he unquestionably kills them. And how.

Although this is actually one of the few occasions where i can honestly say i thought the film was better than the book.
