cannot launch

i have installed GC but it will not boot up
i have downloaded 1 patch do i need another
my system is:
amd k6-2 500
64mb RAM
VOODOO 3-2000
i would be grateful for any help at all

hmm can't think of any reason why. Have you got DirectX7.0a installed? i'll check through some old forums to see if i can find anything out :)

Tr1ck; can u post your cdrom model up plz, some types have known problems with GC.

Also did you try the game before you loaded the patch? i assume u did but sometimes i upgrade software if i have the patched before i play it :)

Well before you go any further, i'd unistall it,then run scandisk, then defrag, then reinstall. Make sure you have the new version patched on before you try and play, and then make sure all your drivers are the latest then try it.
Oh and i have read that the voodoo's can be a problem.
Without a doubt the best cards for this game are ones with a NVIDIA chipset, like the Gforce.
I'd seriously consider upping your ram memory as well, you know what they say, you can never have too much.

my cd rom is 52 speed but i do not know model,
it might be goldstar

hmm... right, well i have the same problem actually (creative labs dvd x6) and the only thing i did was keep trying to run the exe file to make it work, although it would take about 6 attempts for it to load :(

i wish they could cure it but it looks like that'll never happen.

well it seems that some older copies of the game (did you buy it new?) have issues with x52 cdroms and x72 kenwoods. Sierra will replace the disk with a remastered one if this is the case.

you may find some usefull info in the gc forums at www.gccenter.com but i don't think there's a search function so you'll hafta brows some.
