The biggest problem that most people seem to encounter with FS2k seems to be framerates. I found this handy guide via FSplanet.com - give it a go - it may help.

Didn't read all of that document/link but it could prove useful.
Not sure whether it covered anything about Norton??
I was reading somewhere that Norton Utilities is supposed to take upto 50% off your framerates as it takes up quite a bit while running. An in order to prevent the framerates from being impaired you had to delete Norton Utilities completely and that includes removing it from the Autoexe.bat.
Norton Anti-virus and also Norton Cleansweep on and other Norton products. Whether these are part of Norton Utilities or have the same detrimental effect on sytem performance i don't know, but if they are then this may go someway as to explaining my poor framerates with GeForce 2 GTS!!!!

I recently changed from McAffee to Nortons AV and have not experienced any change in framerates. I would be very suprised if you did have to totally eradicate Nortons - the disable function should work fine - but hey, this is *MS* FS2k after all! :)

I run Nortons Utilities all the time while playing FS2K as I didn't see any difference when I either disabled it and once even deleted it from my system. I think it all depends on how much RAM you have and how your system is set up.
I installed Windows Me yesterday so I will see how that performs when we next play on-line.

I'm on the verge of getting Me myself Alz. Any feedback would be appreciated either FS2k related or in general. I already use Explorer 5.5, and have the newest mediaplayer, both d/led from MS webby. These seem to be the biggest changes. My system is fairly stable already, but if Me really does mean the end of the blue screen of death, and faster startup times, then it may well be still worth a try. I watch with interest...

Go for it. It's well worth it.
