Im looking for a free fast bannerless web hosting service, that supports cgi. Lots of webspace isnt a big issue. Any ideas ?

Gah! A free host with no banners! You'd be hard pressed I think. If you want no banners, you'll have to pay.

Of course theres

http://www.angelfire.com

http://www.virtualave.net

They have popup ads, or you can set them to appear in the actual page, though with some html skullduggery you should be able to get round them ;)

You could try Portland (http://www.portland.co.uk), they are not the fastest and do impose limits on monthly bandwith (might be a problem depending how popular your site is going to be). But it is free and with no adverts with 15Mb of space. They allow custom cgi among other things.
