Wow - I'm already on week 5?
All the Scottish Clubs in Europe gave themselves something to shout about although the toughest tie may be Hearts' return leg against Stuttgart which sees the Tynecastle side needing 2 goals and hoping the Germans don't score.
Most of the talk this week have been on 2 topics - the first being Rangers' game with Hearts on Sunday, Hearts finding it totally unfair that the game should have went ahead due to lack to time to prepare. My opinion is that Rangers were forced to play the Sundays after thier UEFA cup ties against Dortmund last year and you didn't see them complaining then?
The second was that contraversial game between Celtic and Dunfermline. Paul Lambert took a blatant dive when he went into the box and Celtic kick started the game which they went on to win 2-1. Personally, all those Celtic fans that constantly complain about being hard done by from officals should take this game and last year's game against St Johnstone to see they are not as hard done by as they make out. (Remember Morton Weighorst's goal in injury time?)
Anyway, Livingston got a hammering off Raith Rovers at home in Division 1. Cheeky Rovers hitman Marvin Andrews stated after he scored yet another goal with his head that he has in fact scored a goal with his feet before. :E
Falkirk were held at home by battling Alloa but reports suggest that the Brockville outfit(not playing there i may add) were really lucky to leave with a point. Alloa will now be hoping that they don't face East Stirlingshire at some point during the rest of the season as the Shire have beaten every Falkirk outfit so far this season. :P
Stranraer leapfrogged Queens Park at the top of the table after beating them 3-0 at home. The newly promoted outfit couldn't handle the constant pressure by the west coasters and should have no complaint about losing their top of the table. Although Partick Thistle are now hot on Queens Park heels after thier victory at the weekend as well.
Into the third division and 1 of the top teams former manager's, Dick Campbell, kept Brechin on even terms with Cowdenbeath at the top of the third with an easy win away to Albion Rovers. Montrose got their very first point of the season against shaky Dumbarton although Montrose must be feeling rather sick after throwing away a 2 goal lead. And finally, after East Stirlingshire's fantastic 4-0 demolition of Stenhousemuir in the challenge Cup last week, the Shire continued recent good form with a superb 4-2 victory away to Peterhead which sees the Shire stay in 6th place but joint 4th on 10 pts with Hamilton and Peterhead.
And that my friends, is this weeks report :)
