At a guess it cos loads of other people log on and the load forces your ping up. No idea if this is true or not though ;)

Hi,

Off peak starts at 6pm, which is when most free ISPs, BT surftime etc etc start.

Hence your assumption is very reasonable. This is backed up by usage graphs which indicate that 8pm is the most popular time and it ramps up from around 5.30-6pm onwards.

A new net feed has been fired up, doubling our bandwidth to 64 mb. It isn't EXACTLY what we wanted, because they are not combined/shared if u like. Some people will come in on one feed, others on the other .. depending on their ip address. It *is* however generally good that we have lots more bandwidth :E and have increased our capacity.

Pings in CS get worse between 7:00-8:30pm, when all the servers start to fill up. But the rise is usually in the 20-40 mark, it sounds as if your ISP is also slowing down at roughly the same time. Who do you connect to mate?
