It's true. I have jumped ship.
Been a fan of Trek since I first watched Kirk as a kid. Collected far too many videos. Recoreded loads more from TV. Own all the films. Watch all the flavours. Read loads of books. I've even read the technical manuals (although I borrowed these from a friend - honest!).
But Farscape has me hooked.
It's like watching Star Wars for the first time all over again. Star Wars didn't try and tell a new story, it just done it in a new way. Farscape does this, too.
No more 'always end on a happy note'. No more 'we're all best of friends and never fall out'. And the theme tune's fantasic!
Is it just me, or does anyone else think the Farscape is the freshest breath of air to grace our screens in ages?
Where/when do I catch this Farscape?
You know what? Me missus has been watching this for a few weeks and I've caught it a couple a times. Did'nt even know what it was called! lol Looks OK. I'll have to watch a full episode one time though...
Hi there,
Ide agree with reaper, Farscape is indeed a breath of fresh air as far as Sci fi goes. To me it has a touch of Blakes 7
in so far as the crew donat all actually get along and they all have their own agendas. The FX are nice and Rigel and pilots get away with being puppets.
And is it me or are erin and chiana extremely attractive ?
Padstar :)

Tbh, how many different sfx did they put in an average ST episode. Hmm, a nice little box to generate sparks next to a console, and the transporter effect.
Farscape comes up with new sfx each week, the stories are much more interesting, and it has a reasonably good continuing storyline too.
Plus, it was made by the aussies. Which is a good thing. I think. Lots of nice touches in there as well.
I wubs it.
Oh yeah I love Farscape its really good. Honestly the SFX are great and the charecters are wacky. But I still love me Star Trek and the only reason I watch it is because of the happy endings, it cheers you up. If you want to get sad endings and non of the let's be friends stuff go and watch anything that is on TV as writers now don't show happy endings anymore as they want realism. Realism my ass more like. But Farscape is different and I like it.

BBC2, Monday, usually 6:45pm.
If you watch the one coming up this Monday, you'll be catching the last one in a three-parter.
well, tbh i watched the first season, from whence the guy got took in a wormhole or somit from earth to where he is now
it reminded me alot of battlestar galltica, dont know why like
but it seemed really cheesey, and the warrior guy in it remined me alot of worf, which i didnt like at all
ill try and wathc it this monday then, see if it has improved :)
Mozza
seen it, liked it but I'm not hooked.
I think I just don't like Aussie dramas :E
might give it another whirl though, I saw a lot of potential in there but it was a bit Jerry Anderson for me.

Personally, I find farscape ok, but it's a bit too predictible for me. It's a bit like the A-TEAM in space imo, but it's still worth watching cos there's bugger all else on :D
