A number of people have mailed/commented to me that I'm making a mistake making a site that works at 1024*768. So I'd like to know what resolution everyone's machines are running at.

Cheers.

1280 x 1024, but I do most sites to fit in 800x600 or above.

only prob ive had with the site is you get white spaces at the top and bottom between the middle tables cells and the corner images.

Make your site viewable at 800X600 as this is the most common resolution.

I suppose the other question you have to ask is how many people have their browser maximized? I always use 1024x768, but I certainly wouldn't have a browser window filling my entire desktop.

What a star you are!

I feel almost justified - by about 5%, anyway :cheese:

Cheers.

Is there anyone else who does browse full screen?

Okay.. if you want some half-decent statistics, these are from my site (http://www.gameditors.co.uk/wc) which is 1024 X 768 res--

total visitors- 700
640X480- 2%
800X600- 34%
1024X768- 46%
greater/unknown- 14%

I know it doesn't add up (that's the counters fault) but at least it shows that slightly more ppl probably use 1024X768, but you should design your site so it can be easily viewed in 800X600 cos they'll both account for around 80% of your viewing public :E

Why on earth is you doing that? How about answering my networking stuff for me instead? :)

Discuss the advantages of structured addressing and illustrate how this can be used with a hierarchical organised Internet.

I am in the middle of making a flash site...Its nearly done i tested it yesterday and it did not reform to fit the screen when i minimized my browser window? Grumpmonkee - No. Networks scare meh, apart from when they are set up by someone else and used sley for work copying and games playing :P

Neptune - When joo export the SWf, in the HTML tab section under PUBLISH settings, there should be an option that says saaain like SCALE.

set this to EXACT FIT.
