In the olden days I'd use Corel Mosaic. Whether Corel still do a tracing program I dunno.

Does Fireworks do it?

Can't you do it in Flash? Convert a graphic to vector I mean. Would it then be possible to then export it as a WMF or something?

howdy,

it all depends on the raster image that you are trying to convert and what the detail level and quality you want from the vectorised version.

If it's a relatively simple image with large block area fills such as a logo then you can either trace over it using Corel or such programs illustrator etc:
If you want it automised then Corel has a trace package within it's suite however results can be rather varied.

If on the other hand you want to convert a photograph with lots of detail and, then really vectorising is not the thing to do.

Trial and error. Flash 5 is supposed to have some bitmap vectorising features, it effectively breaks the bitmap appart and using th magnetic wand tool you can select areas of similar shading to combine.

give it a go and see what you think.
