don't you think that porn sites shoud end .porn for example http://www.hotwomen.porn because they are not really comercial sites plus it would be a lot easier for programs like net nanny to operate.

yes but how are you going to enforce this. Potentualy you would have to check all .com .co.uk etc registrations to see if they have p0rn content. Wjat do you think this would do to the price of domain names?

The pr0n sites don't nescessairily have to be forced into it, it could merely be an informal agreement.

Plus sites ending with .pron are likely to get more traffic, seeing as peeps would know what they were going to find when using those extensions.

exactly the sites would know that it would boost hits and so they would all want to use .porn

it would also free up some domain names from porn sites with not exactly pornish type names

.cum surely?

No, I'm all for this. I don't want to see the net categoried but it would make life better if pr0n was put in a box. I mean, if people want to look it up, they know where to go. If you're a parent and don't want you're kids looking at it, you know where to stop them going.

I don't think the porn sites will ever do it though. There is too much competition it seems. Practically every search on a search engine will generate a porn site somewhere on the list of results. Porn sites lure people in pretending to be other sites, or they lure them in saying its "free". The whole web-based industry is underhanded. They often sponsor warez sites too.

Basically, there is no way that an industry which functions like that will ever agree to have .porn as a domain. The .porn would become the "acceptable" porn because, by definitiion, it is "approved". You'd get all the page 3 type sites there perhaps, but not the rest.

i see your point jinx and it's a good one but surely the porn site would make up for the lost accidental traffic by making it known that it was a porn site and thus make it more appealling to the people who need the porn and want the porn!!!

hehe

nice 1

i fink it would be a good idea to do this tho. it makes alot of sense...

- easy for p0rn lovers to find
- easy for parents to keep kids away from
- would help cut down on "accidentally" bringing up p0rn site :) especially at work - DOH !!
- ...i cant think of anything else :E

heh

Example:

http://www.dailyfacial.com

Oil of Olay site...

Now add an 's' on, and you get a pr0n site! Just the sort of thing that can happen in schools too.

Tbh, though I hate the idea of a governing body, something to regulate the internet would be good.

Though the internet is so free form, its ridiculous. People fear the internet, as its unfiltered.

You can find pictures of dead babies and amputated body parts in a matter of seconds for christs sake.

I wubs it :E
