ive been coordinating the site which is now coming together.

firstly- my flash guy has gone back to uni and i only have his work in swf format, can i turn it back into an updatable format atall?

Nope, you can't turn it back. The .FLA file is completely different to the .swf file that it creates so you can't go back. You can pull some of the assets out with some programs like swiftys tools but you can't get it straight back into flash.
