Hardly any DVD players play CD-Rs. Something to do with the frequency of the - (cue Dr. Evil voice) 'lay-zor'. :D

More and more commonly due to the fact that companies are trying to stamp out copying and deliberately marketing DVD players and Cd players that will not play CD-R. An example is Sony who are strong advocates for minidisc.

AFAIK all CD players can play CD-Rs regardless. I know my brand new Sony CD player does.

AFAIK all CD players can play CD-Rs regardless
Except a few in-car CD-players. :D
My car player plays CD-Rs fine. Better to have 30p discs nicked rather than 15 quidders. :)
I think the special 'Audio' CD-Rs should work in anything though. Unfortunately they are about £2 each.

That was my thinking too. Also, I don't the idea of CDs been left on the dashboard under the glare of the sun.
