Its gone Pear Shaped!

Hi I have a atlon 700, with a tnt2 32mb. Everything was fine until yesterday when things went a bit odd. Sometimes everything is fine and then somtimes the colours in certain places on my moniter 'Smudge' and my screen goes a bit blurry. Is this due to my graphics card or moniter?
and what can i do to fix it??

Have you got unshielded speakers near your monitor? is it a constant effect or only after running certain program? have you loaded anything new?
