...Goes to "Creach"
Just been watching the FFA from within the WP3 client, and currently, this guy is on 1 kill, and 61 deaths.....
Just gotta admire his persistence...who ever he is!!
Please someone, take him to one side and help him, these type tend to turn into quality people, if not quality pilots
LOL! couldnt agree more m8... FWIW that aint a bad starting ratio!
lol
good on him
tell him to speak to me if he has icq ill give him some help :)

Got to agree with FB's sentiments, I mean, look at Dragonweedy :)
These people do deserve a medal, especially when they finally get to the promised land - which is when they start holding their own. I think the best case of persistence in the face of overwhelming odds is Dogend, who I remember when he first started with similar ratios. He always came into FFA late at night too, with the usual hardcore of exceptional pilots hanging around.....doubly difficult!
He stuck at it and now he's a really good standard.
Like I said before, when you see people repeatedly night after night, always say hello to them and make them feel welcome, especially if they are clearly struggling to compete. Like FB said, these people are usually the ones that turn into the kind of people we want around here.

i've always regarded Tripi as one of the best examples of the entire spirit of this game :)
was a guy in FFA last night with 0k 60-odd d called "boggles", must admit i flew into him a few times during combat, he got a few kills from that and was overjoyed *lol*
three cheers for rookies!
hip hip!
must admit under wp 2.3 ive left ffa a few times and just checked the scores and found some one with a ratio like the above.
ive gone back in under a different name and eventualy found the pilot in question and managed to "accidently" overshoot and end up in front of them and get killed.
i never comment on it, never say you can have that one or similar, sometimes ill say good kill, but whatever, it gives em a lift. the secret is to make it look like they do the hard work and that they beat you
to be honest these days, im so out of practice that i dont have to try to help them, they just kill me anyway :)
Well done to to him for sticking at it, hes nearly got as good of a ratio as me.

tinvek does a lot of work for Chaaaridy.
I remember those times too where nothing I did seem to work and I always got my ass kicked.
If anyone says to me "whats changed" I'll ...I'll do something not sure what yet.

Aww shucks! What can I say...
Damn, you found my new alias, "Creach"! :E
But in all honesty, yes, it is people like him that often turn out to be the nicest chaps to be with. There was a new chap in the other night (WP3 - no Rookie Arena), who was really suffering. There were some good pilots in, and quite a lot who were just starting out. This chap was really trying, and once or twice I followed him to see what was happening. Everything seemed OK (as far as I could tell), but he just wasn't getting anywhere. He asked for tips and we all gave him a few. A couple of times he asked "how can I see the whole screen?", so we said "Press F3"... you already know, don't you!... eventually he asked again and I realised...
Me: Press ALT and T, matey!
Him: Thanks mate
Me: Did that do the trick?
Him: Yes thanks
My heart went out to him. I know he will be one that stays, and he is more than welcome.
It's not like it was a large effort to play AA FFA every night If I recollect correctly, it was an larger effort stopping myself, even when I was getting £700 phone bills.

oooer i remember my first time in FFA about 5 months ago all those nasty ppl shooting me. My gun sights not wanting to follow the person in front. The nasty guy laughing as i plummuted to the ground facing certain death. And all that time all i needed was hey do you use F4. Ok OMG i used AA without F4 for about 2 months.
WTF am i on about, WAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAP.

i've played AA for just over two years now.
i didn't use f4 for about a year and a half of that, not because i didn't know what it was, but because i thought it was bloody stupid :E
f4 still can be stupid, sunday morning it insisted on staying locked on a dead plane even after hed hit the ground and was just smoking wreckage. tried pressing e, cycling through enemy and it wouldnt let go of this plane till after id died
must admit though its the fist time in months its done that
