View Full Version : WP3+ LAN
Is WP3 available through a LAN network, without a dial up
Hi,
I presume that you are refering to Wireplay being able to connect via a LAN and not simply dial up. The Wireplay client works with any system that has a connection to the internet whether proxy server or other.
The client launches and looks for the login box by pinging the server. The client may not work if your network has restrictive firewalls in place or other security features.
My suggestion in this case...(I am sure that you have alreeady got your internet settings set to this)is to right click on the IE icon on the desktop and select connection. Set your connection to never dial.
If this does not work please get back.
Unfortunatly still no joy
The WP Laucher works for a bit and stops responding while still on the loading page.
I have set the default conection to 'ASDL, Cable, or Other'
but it still doesnt work. :(
Very strange. All I can say is I have it working on my machine.
If you are accessing on a LAN all you need is your default gateway to be setup correctly.
This means that all your data will be sent to that IP address, and hopefully you will have a piece of software sitting there which deals with it, such as winroute (http://www.winroute.com)
just make sure there are no necessary port restrictions as said above.
I access through a lan, all is fine :)
btw, doing this will give you all ur TCP/IP info for all listed adapters :
Start > Run > winipcfg
