View Full Version : Sad farewells.
Today my E reg Metro city 1.0 goes to the knackers yard, my un-trusty steed will be either made into glue or dog food.
I'd just like to pay last respects to a car that never failed to let me down, aaah great days, the RAC will be holding a party tonite I can tell you, they might actually get a minutes peace.
A minutes silence please..........

Do they turn cars into glue or dog food?
Job done, and what a sad end it was too, the scrap yard was down the end this mud road and as I was sitting out side some caft bunt came past the car at warp 9 and sprayed the old girl with mud, a last indignity (Apart from getting squashed and pulled apart of course).
Some refined gent sitting outside in a lorry suggested that the bloke was a ****ing idiot, which cheered me up a little I must say :)

Get a male car next time BJ, then at least you can put it out to stud when it reaches the end of its working life.
i saw that car in action too
Yeah, that's true, although I dunno if action is the right word :)
it reminds me of the happy/sad day that i had to put my little baby to sleep
so that i never had to ring the aa every again may you rest in peace vaxhall astra mk1 :)
Reminds me of the day I sold me trusty Citroen 2cv6.. green and white dolly, this was a dolly special... whooooo twin choke carburettor here boys.... good for 70mph that little beaut.
Man from the 2cv club came to take it away, kids on the doorstep watching it go, crying thier hearts out.
Had that baby 3 years. Best fun car ever... did loads of miles in her... including 2 trips to Disneyland Paris.
Happy days.

Keep the memory of your Metro alive by getting an equally gay car. How about one of those iridescant pink xr3i convertibles ?
I had an E plate 1.0l City too (purple).
When it became too expensive to repair to pass the most dodgy of MOT garages, I gave it to my brother. Who then took it around the fields, hills, valleys and mountains around my home. It did more work in those last 4 days with him than it ever did with my Gran or myself, and it went out with a bang - literally.
So, my first car didnt die like an old person sitting in his chair slowly slipping into a sleep of ages, it went out like a 20 year old parachuter/ist (erm that a word?) who's chute didnt open, but he didnt care cos he was having the buzz of a lifetime :)
