I've just got de'somethingorothers keep. 500gp per week apparently. nowt much has happened there yet, and ive been Lord for about a week game time. maybe more.

I bloody love this game. yes. Wasnt too sure to start with, the dungeon wasnt much to my liking, but im getting right into it now. Just off to investigate some ruins . . .

I'm still trying to find out what clerics get. Playing a cleric is a little pointless because of Aerie, Anomen, Jaheira etc., but she was my first ever character so I decided to start by importing her.

Also, SF: If you're a fallen ranger, you're in trouble. There's no way to regain your status in the game, and it's quite possible you won't get to keep the ranger's cabin either (though I'm not certain of that).

Well I did the rangers quests and got the cabin. And boy is it crap, not only is it small but I don't think it makes any money:(

Aww i'm seriously bumed then, reduced to a second rate fighter. Ive heard that doin the rangers quets would restore my fallen status. But that didn't help, plus I think they took animal companions outa the game.

And where is the moondog figurine? I didn't get it!!! ne one know where it is?

Why did they make fallen status permanent? I'm certainly not starting the game again, my chara is fooked.

Whats fallen? and whats wrong with the range cabin its nice n cosy :) also you get **** loads of sub-quest from it, keep going back and youll get asked to do loads of things. well worth the XP and as you know XP = more than money! :E

Fallen is when a Paladin or Ranger's reputation falls too low. They lose the special abilities of their class and just become a fighter... only they still can't specialise in anything beyond two stars, so they're a pretty sucky fighter too.

!!**SORRY**!! if this spoils anything.ive seen the keep, for the fighter, the ranger hut, the play house which is the inn in the bridge district i think,theives guild in the second chapter. i think thats it soo far.. i think if you go to the temple district you can get a temple as well depending on wich god you worship.

SummerFlame - if this isn't a personal question, :eek: just what did you do to drop your reputation so low to become a fallen ranger. I'm just asking 'cos I'm playing a ranger as well and I don't want to end up in the same trouble. At the mo I'm just being very careful not to kill any wlid animals and such like :E

basically it was the stupid ai's fault, innocent people somtines turn hostile and my npc will auto kill them b4 i can even stop them.

This happens if your caught by the guards when your searching a house. Or if your fighting in the street and a enemy mage's spell hit a innocent they turn hostile.

And what about the quest for killing the thieves guild, as soon as i entered maevers place that store keep turned hostile, i though it was ok because it was a quest and he turned hostile all on his own. but no if u kill anybody who cant fight u lose your rep.

then there was anomen he did it all himself!!(was part of the storyline!! couldn't even stop him.)

u gotto be real carfull and turn off ai when u dont want your party members to kill innocents turned red.

I always play with AI off - otherwise it's really annoying when my stealthy thief explorer attacks the shadow fiend he's trying to sneak past.

I just became an initiate of the Temple of Lathander, which was nice... My female cleric also has a romance with Anomen going on nicely, he's just compared her to a flower he happened to pick (in a dungeon, but who cares?) :E

Of course, you can't get romantic with Anomen unless you guide his path on the course of Law and goodness, thus earning him his knighthood in the Order of the Radiant Heart. This, apparently, SummerFlame failed to do, hence his poor reputation :)

Hmmmm my character sort of got dirty with Viconia the Drow who you find being burnt at the stake. Probably not a good thing consdering every one elese in my party is a good character and she keeps on talking about killing her husbands :rolleyes:

It was all anomens fault. i dont see how i was to blame:)

and yes he is the only romance option availabe to females.
An yes, the majority of bg players dont like anomen anyway.
including me.

I find Anomen a pretty useful addition to my party - he wields that three-headed flail with some skill, is the highest level of my four(!) healer types, and can really soak up damage. As for his general character, it improves a lot once his alignment turns to Lawful Good (i.e. after joining the Radiant Heart). He becomes less arrogant and boastful.

Despite your warning, he's just done exactly the same to me :{ My reputations at 10 now, so it's time for best behaviour :E

It does seem to go against the grain to advise Anomen to do nothing when he finds there is no evidence against Saerk, but you have to bear in mind that if there's no evidence, then Saerk could be innocent. Under those circumstances killing him is an unlawful and possibly evil act.

Like everyone else I don't really like Anomen, but he does fill out my third 'front line' position well :)

As for Saerk, it is a gamble going after him in the first place, but from the way I understood the confrontation with him, he does admit (in a round about way) to the killing. Of course there's no excusing Anomen butchering his daughter :(

I can't believe how much there is to do in this game. I'm still running around completing as many sub-quests as I can before I go back to the Shadow Thieves with my 20K :E

Next up is a quick visit to the graveyard, 'tho I'm not expecting anything good to come of that :{

Funny, I couldn't find the, ah, 'alternative to the shadow thieves' when I went to the graveyard one night (despite being told to go there). Still, at least I gave a dead halfling kid his teddy bear back :)

aha! thats where u all went wrong :)

did U not notice viconia is a pure cleric, has 19 natural dex, and 18 wis so she gets more cleric spells then anybody else? and has low starting AC? not to mention she atarts with 65% magic resistance ?

her only downfall fall is low strength and moderate cont, so I just gave her the gridle of strength and its now 19 :), I gave her the mirror sheild too cos most of my party are duel wielding or using range weopons.

I send her to fight a lich 1 on 1 and she soaks up most of the metoer storms and disintergrate. She dispels his protection from evil so his pit fiend attacks him
and cures herdself in any spells get thro.

in the end the lich was outa spells and i sent all 6 in melee and he died fast. I use her to attract enemy mages attention and give her the magic restisstance stuff to take that 65 to around 70+.

Well, that post doesn't seem to follow on from anything that went before it, but I do like Viconia and I do give her strength-boosting items like that girdle. You forgot to mention one other thing in her favour, though - she's a babe (albeit an evil one) and up for it if you play your cards right :)
