Whether you like Schu or not the way Hakkinen was with Michael was brilliant. He was gracious in defeat admitting he was upset for himself and Mclaren yet happy for Schu.(in the press Conferance)

"And now over to you David", "How was your race today" said the ITV Interviewer....

"Well it was non-eventful and I concentrated on staying on the track"......or some insight like this....to which Hakkinen, Schumacher and the interviewer waited for more from the chin-man-wonder.
What happened, he sat back in a huff and shrugged. Still we waited.....the poor interviewer became more unsettled and confused with what to do next. Coulthard just started staring at the camera, unresponsive. Arse.

Top Marks to Hakkinen, good man that!!

Coulthard sod off back to where you came from and stop putting the spoilers on a great sport you arrogant git. How he has the gall to slag off Ferrari, Mclaren, Schu, Mika, Overtaking, Blocking, Back markers etc when he is this no better is beyond me.
Self Righteous Tart.

To any major Coulthard fans or family members who read this I apologise but he should just shut up and get on with the sport. (If you want to give him a kick for me.....)

I thought his response was quite apt for the question asked.

Basically, he was told that the cameras hardly picked him up at all and replied that he's not surprised with a championship being won infront of him, then briefly explained his non-eventful race (no overtaking, no defending, just sitting on his own for an entire race, can't really say all that much about that really, can you?).

If you think about it, he too was being really quite gracious. As soon as Schumaker crossed the line, the day became his and Coulthard stepped out of the limelighgt to allow Schumaker to enjoy his 15 minutes of fame. At least that's how I saw it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a major Couthard fan, but I've nothing against him, either.

Fair enough but he seemed to be being a little bit funny, to myself and people I watched it with anyway.

I think that both Coulthard and Schumacher should stop there little games. At Indy, Coulthard played within the rules which Schumacher acknologed but then he could stop himself having a go could he, "I don't think he took the tightest possible line into turn 1". And.... why the hell should he? He could if he wanted to have run the German off the road, but he didn't.
Personally prefer Coulthard to the goody goody that he has been portrayed to be in the past and finally he has stopped being walked over by his team mates (i.e. Hill did it in 94 and 95, and Hakkinen has dominated Coulthard since 96).
And if Coulthard is arrogant then what does that make Schumacher? I'm no fan of the Italian anthem, infact it gets on my nerves but i don't approve of people disrespecting national anthems by ponsing about on the podium!

'a great sport' ? Hmm, the more i think about f1, the more i think about the other racing i see, the more i realise that its not really nearly as great as it could be. Besides, coulthard's had a tough year...i don't know about you, but this year I haven't escaped from a plane crash and haven't had Del La Rosa's (?) f1 car flip over my head, missing it by -not much at all-.

As Schumcher later apologised saying "I saw all of the Ferrari team (mechanics etc) so overjoyed singing and dancing together I joined in. No disrespect was meant..."etc.

Jesus, everyone has a go at him for not beeing more relaxed or "fun" and when he is....he gets slagged off for it. Don't figure??
