OK, it says that my modem is 3.3k a sec. BUT I was just d/l a file at 5.1k a sec. average, so?....
Also it is MSN.com, so dosn't that mean American? lol
I don't think that is a fair test AT ALL, I've done it before a lot of times, it's not accurate imo...
Thanks serpico, not seen that before. Also, for those interested in connection analysis try http://www.modemwizard.com/ They have a nice little tool that's free to boot :)

Look at my connection speed:
Your line speed:
15.1 Kbps
1.9 K bytes/sec
And also, who said it was only for fast modems, not dial-up?
Whether you are using a cable modem, an asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL), digital subscriber line (DSL), integrated services digital network (ISDN) connection, or just a plain old dial-up modem, the Bandwidth Speed Test will give you the answer.

As I have said, it is not a fair test at all, and it is for Modems as well as xDSL and Cable and T1 etc. etc..

Your line speed:
629.6 Kbps

On NTL cable modem.

Woohoo, that tweak/USB error control OFF thing really works :) Just ran the test 3 times and got:
497.6 Kbps
61 K bytes/sec
529.9 Kbps
64.9 K bytes/sec
491.6 Kbps
60.2 K bytes/sec
Whereas before I'd usually get between 370Kb and 420kb :) In fact, all those 3 results are higher than I EVER got before doing the tweak. Nice! :)

hmmm, seems lots of peeps seem to have lost the plot (me inc!). After reading the title of this thread, I'm wondering what homer66 is on? :smokin:
:P
:)
Does not seem like a very good test to me.
I just downloaded a 12mb file for a german FTP @ 250k a second which took about a minute.
Run this speed test and gives me 35k a second.
