Hi guys, first time i've posted on this forum, but been reading it for a bit,

i think i found a bug, but im not sure, maybe i haven't done something.

i was in the city just about to leave, when jaheira had to go to the harpers, so i let her go.
i went to help that bird with the keep, and camped just after i got there, and jaheira came back saying she needed me at the harper compound.
so i travelled all the way back to the docks, only to find the door locked and no guards about, PLEASE TELL ME THIS ISN'T A BUG!!!!

Also, how do u solve the murders, i;ve talked to rose, and she said something about the smell, i eventually got her to identify the smell and went to the tanner's shop but becuase i've got no evidence i can't do anything and rose won't talk to me.

I think BG2 is a great game, better than the first one, its more of a game u would think that a dungeons and dragons game would be, and it actually has dragons, those beholders are a bitch though.

one last thing,
is it better to have higher saving throws, or lower and what about resistances also

thanx

you want higher saving throws and higher resistances as much as possible. And i think you can only get into the harper compound if youve already been in earlier (theres a quest that lets you open the door). I did find a rather large bug in the game actually which allows you to move from chapter 6 back to chapter 4, but i wont go into details cos it may spoil it for some ppl.
As for the beholders, they are a pain, but i found a cloak of reflections, which i gave to my main character and made him virtually invulnerable to beholders, cos all their attacks are reflected back at them. He just walks into a nest of them, they all fire at him and kill themselves :)

Ummm, sorry Spike, but that's not entriely true. Resistances should be as low as possible, but saving throws should be as LOW as possible. Within the original AD&D game, you had to roll the saving throw value or higher on a d20 to make the save. Therefore, the lower the saving throw value is, the greater chance you have of making the save.

to get in harper compound speak to the person outside he will give you a task to let you in, though i think you have to come across a injured harper 1st and take him to the compound. you should find this injured person if you travel to the bridge area, though he is not actually in that area just you get ambushed while travaling and should see his him there :)

the lower the saving throw the better and the higher the resistance the better.
