Hard Done By? from BTinternet or Gun Jumping (long post)

Just thought I would let you know whats happning with me.

I am one of those peeps who pre-ordered BTopenworld back in May, but still haven't receieved any email for confirmation (invite).

I went to the BTopenworld site and clicked on the link (the curious link) to see if I could complete my order. I am an annual subscriber to BTinternet and the notice said that I needed to contact the helpdesk to get my account reset or changed etc: but was told that I would keep all of my email addys and webspace etc: (seemless transition).

As the BTopenworld site said I had to get the details of my account changed I set about contacting BTinternet. I filled in the online form saying can this be done? and if so could they do it for me. I also asked what would happen about my email addys and webspace as I was using it and the site was important (portfolio etc:) That was last Friday (6th October) On the following Monday when I got home, my m8 said that he kept getting undeliverable msgs from my account (hence me not getting any emails all afternoon). GOt home, another m8 phoned and said that my site was borked. Hmmm wierd. Try connecting to check things out. Can't get a connection - check username and password. 8 times l8r I connect through WPDirect (diff ISP). Can't get my mail, can't get my account details and not website.

The system doesn't know who I am, I can't connect, my account seems to have been deleted and my entire website deleted without any notification or answers to my questions. Ummmm hello? The annoying thing is that the form asked for an email addy so they could contact me... urrr it's been deleted so thats no good lol !!!

I dunno. And to top it all off, My dad got an email last night from BTopenworld inviting him to sign up for ADSL - we are in the same house - his phone line downstairs, mine upstairs (diff numbers). I signed him up 1 month after I signed myself up. Sods law I rekon I have the email sitting in my deleted accout with BTinternet nnnggghhhh

*bangs head against wall*

They have/had cancelled my account and thusly my website - blitzed hmmm.

Passive purely because I have an install date finally - done deal, now for the longest 3 weeks of my life.

I never originally recieved an invite e-mail, but rang the order manmagement desk who put me onto another desk, They told me that a mail "should" have been sent mid-sept,(rang early Oct). Strangly 30mins after ringing them, an e-mail mysteriously apperars inviting me to confirm my order.
Did that and asked for a morning install on 23rd. Just waiting for a line test, whenever that'll be. Prob being, whichever phone no. I give them, sods law states I'll be near the other one when (if) they ring :wail:

I've had a similar problem. Pre-ordered, received the e-mail telling me I'd be notified, and then nowt! I went to the website to check what was going on, and it gave me an option to arrange installation and I was given a date of 20th Oct (although they didn't say which year)! Today's the 14th and I've still not received confirmation so I mailed 'em this morning. If I get a response (which I understand to be a rare and scary thing) or even an installation, I'll let y'all know.

Just to let you know that I've been stiffed by BT! I phoned 'em yesterday to confirm my installation this Friday, and only after a 20 minute wait, was I informed that I had failed the line test due to being too far from the exchange. They weren't even going to f**king tell me!!!

When I rang up to check monday I was told that the line test result was pending and they'd ring me.
No joy by Thursday, so after 3/4 hour waiting in the q on the order management helpdesk, they put me on hold to check with engineers, and tell me I've passed. Waiting to see whether one turns up monday mornin to install it. Got week off to play with it :o)

IF they install it on Monday..
