View Full Version : 42.6dB too high - any suggestions
its supposed to be 41db but im 42.6 - anybody else got round this?
When i had mine installed the engineer said 47db was the max.
Not a lot you can do about line loss as its outside mostly, check all your internal wiring for damage etc.
I had the same problem... I insisted that they
install anyway. I speculated that 47Db pass was to
ensure capability with 2Mb downloads....
Apparently non of the engineers are sure what the
tests prove and they are usually inaccurate!
Anyway it was installed, and it works great...
That was with a Db drop in testing of 47
Hope this helps... enjoy.
PS QuakeIII pings at 20-30 for me so I guess
I don't have line problems!
thanx... just rang BTO and told them others had had it installed with higher dB's than 42 and they said that as it was borderline they would do another test (my install date was 16th, so thats bitten the dust!!). Results back on Monday or Tuesday. (fingers crossed)...
I did say i wanted it anyway as others had it installed with higher dB's but Order Management said they couldnt do that - who was it that you spoke to get them to go ahead anyway - Order Management or another department.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx

For people that are too high on line Db's.. There offering one bedroom flats for rent above the exchanges for serious gamers, this gets sub-20 pings apparently ;)
