Different colours in Rookies

I noticed when playing in Rookies that some planes were of different colours and presume that it means differing levels of skill. Green, yellow and red. Yet I was under the assumption that your score doesn't count in Rookies. Does your score count in Rookies, indicating the different colour of your aircraft as you progress?

I find that when I land with flaps down for landing, I am unable to change them back to normal or takeoff. Any idea as to what the problem may be, kind sirs.

Different coloured planes = different contry, ie green = GB (Spit & Hurri),red = SU (yak & la), pink = GE (109 & 190) and yellow = US (mustang & P-38).

Anyone can select these planes when you pick your plane immediately before playing.

In a free-for-all these colours are not really relevant as you can hit any of them.

But in a teams game you don't hit the planes in the same colour as you, but any of the other ones.:)

You are right, points do not accumulate in the rookie arena and you cannot boost your rank. Colours do not indicate a player's rank, but will give you an indication of how to approach your kill, but that will become apparant once you gain your skill.

Don't know why you cannot change your flaps though. Only time you cannot change your flaps is when they sustain a certain amount of damage. Then you need to land at an airfield to have them 'repaired'.

Flaps isn't a toggle key like the undercarriage, you need a different key to lower and raise. Check your config file again & see which keys are set to lower and raise flaps. BTW you should still be able to take off whatever the flaps setting.

Thankee folks, me was wondering about the different colours. Red seems to be deadly in Rookies, must be a good machine. Me able to take off on runway but unable to change flappies. Me Mighty Fine confused.
