I have looked through the manual searching for the following question:
How manny players can you have?

Basically what i mean is could you have a Paladin, Ranger, Wizard etc or are you stuck to just the one? Im just curious cos i play UO and character choice is crucial :)

You can pick up and add npc's to your party to make a total of 6 people including yourself, that will give you plenty of variety in different class's. Its also possible to start a lan game on your own and create 6 of your own charachters and not bother with npc's though i would advise againts doing that as you would miss out on all the npc specific quests.

Single player - you're restricted to one central character who can be any of the traditional classes (Mage, Priest, etc...) In addition you can be multi classed in various combinations...Fighter/Thief, Cleric/Mage, and Mage/Thief/Fighter to name but a few. Although having said that multi-classing does have its drawback as level advancement will be slower. In addition to your main character you recruit up to five additional npcs as you go, who are all of pre-set classes.

Multi player - Again the same types of classes, but you and who ever you're playing with can generate as many of the six characters as you like.

Ooops, forgot to mention dual class - This is where you advance to a certain level in one class and then freeze at that level, before transferring to a new class, starting at level one again, but retaining all you previous clsses skills and stuff.

Funny because I swaped uo for bg2 after playing it for 2 days, what I was wondering was why do people find it any fun. Did i miss something? I had the uo ranaisance version, whats the difference between all the versions ? ?I found the game looked tacky, I was willing to forgive that for good gameplay but the interface wasn't done very well and the controls were unresponsive.

Can someone enlighten me and tell me if I missed something? I'm just curuous if I let i good game pass me by and please don't get the impression i'm downgrading the game cos it's hard to show the proper tone in pure text.
