View Full Version : Redundant servers.............
Why not have a clear out of redundant unused servers and give them over to more popular games or even use them to try new mods etc.
For example No one seems to play the Half Life opposing forces servers, but the fire arms servers are all ways full.
I'm sure there must be similar cases on each of the different games.
How about a clear out!!!!!!
Er, how about NO.
Opposing Force was once a dead game, when I opened Op4 Central we managed to bring a bit of life back into it, our servers are 1101 and the net servers are 1100, the reason for this is because the 1101 patch is not "NEEDED" therefore no one can access our servers.
When the 1104 patch comes out, Op4 Deathmatch and CTF is going to be included in it therefore MORE people and all servers and people will be on the same patch.
Due to upcoming leagues I will actually be asking Stikky for one or two extra servers.
Get your facts right before you post, it may help you in the future...
If you want servers then TRIBES, although played now and then have LOADS which are nearly always empty and the CS 4v4 ones are a waste of time. never been used it seems.
Do some homework before you go taking other communitys servers.. :(
I wasn't picking on Opp Forces, it's just that I only play Halflife type games and this happens to be empty.
Sorry to cause offence, but there must be other servers on different games that are never used........
Yes, sorry about my reply being a bit harsh.
It's just if you've ever been incharge of a small games community and spend alot of your time and effort, along with many other loyal members of the community, trying to build the game up, get things pumping again and then someone comes along and says
"no one plays this game"
"this games crap"
"servers are never used"
it just really puts you down and gets you on the defensive side ;(
