View Full Version : Little probs with ADSL
Is ne1 else having problems connecting? I have been in touch with technical support and they say that the modem has USB syncronisation issues. FFS. They told me to basically turn off my machine, unplug the modem, turn on the machine and re-plug in the modem. FFS. So basically, when I am having problems connecting, I have to do lots of shutdowns and unplugging just to get it to work. And this is apparently a problem with the modem. Nothing to do with BT. Methinks we need new drivers. Or perhaps its just the sh1tty HG1 server having problems again. I mean, it has had problems since I got ADSL.
BT fecking sort it out!!!

Arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Have the same problem got it installed on friday was working for most of the day then friday evening nothing windows refused to load with the modem in :(, and pluging it in once the system is running crashes it :(. So if I want to use it now I have to reinstall the bloody drivers. Well at least you got more of an answer from BT than I did. Rang up on saturday and I'm still waiting for an answer.
Glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem

Shiva m8,
So far I have experienced a couple of 'minor' issues.
1. I occasionally have problems with connecting. By this I mean I will physically connect to the server and be authenticated correctly, but when I try to do anything (e.g. Browse, ICQ or Download E-Mails) I get errors. ICQ and Outlook can't establish a connection and I get a DNS error when I load up Internet Explorer. This problem is usually solved by dropping my connection, then re-establishing it. Out of interest, I am on the hg1 gateway - which sounds to be a bit dodgy to say the least!
2. I sometimes blue screen when shutting down my machine, but I think this is a conflict with my modem and Windows ME. A rebuild should solve this (but I can't be fecked to do it) or maybe the latest drivers (if the Alcatel site had any that I could download that is!). When I don't blue screen, my machine won't power off when I shut down.
Compared to what some of the other peeps have/are experiencing ([Floyd],homer) these are minor issues. But annoying nevertheless!
Yeah, your first problem is the one i am experiencing.
