View Full Version : Homehighway to ADSL
Has anyone gone from Homehighway to ADSL
If so did it cost more?
Well, how much are you spending on calls now? I think HH is 30 a month - £5 free calls? Is that right? And ADSL is 40-ish, so if you're spending more than 15 a month on calls, ADSL is cheaper, but... surely the fact that the speed of access is at least 5 times quicker is more important than 15 quid here or there?

one more thing, I sure as sh1t can't share my 128k ISDN connex with 2 comps and get smooth gameplay with 50 pings on both. No chance, even if i go for a server with less hops than a dead bunny rabbit! EVEN if i use barrysworld, EVEN if i go for demon (cos they're just down the road) and use their servers.
ISDN is like a ford focus - does what it says well, but no more. Believe me, I have ISDN and have seen the results of ADSL, there is no comparison.:)

I have recently been trying to upgrade to ADSL from HH.
I was told by the friendly BT technical assistant bloke that there are some problems converting a HH line to ADSL, or sumfin.
He didnt go any further than that because he was a f***wit, but I imagine there is just some kind of compatibility problem. They said they were working on it, by the time ADSL reaches my area I hope they have sorted it out :)
Cheers Spider that's what I was looking for.
I've heard you have to get converted back to analogue before you can get ADSL, making conversion from HH to ADSL £50 more expensive than straight from an analogue line...
Oddness.

ah look Shiva trying too start a flame, how unusual.
STFU.
I have read somewhere that BT will be trialling IDSL to the peeps trying to get ADSL atm. So it might be worth asking about it...tho whether the phone guys will know anything about it yet is another matter.
