Master/Slave HD set up...?

I think ive set up the 2 hds properly but windows inst finding the slave:( Ive plugged the cable into the mobo and plugged the other cable into that. The jumper setting are correct as it says on the hds themselves but no second disk. Any suggestions?

Just a quick thought, have you detected the Hard Drive in your Bios? Also it may sound silly but did you remember to plug a power connector into the second drive? As my friend did this same thing but didn't plug his power cable in :D

you'll have to fdisk and format the second disk before 98 will see it, use the 98 startup disk and don't make the mistake of formatting your existing drive :)

k ive got that so far but now the only problem is that its a 13 gig drive but only reading as a 1.9 gig. the master drive is 10.2 so would that cause a problem?

Does it only read as 1.9gb in windows?
If so it's probably been formatted as Fat16 which only supports drives upto 2gb in size. When you boot off the Win98 floppy choose yes to LBA which I think is the default option and make the partition as large as the disk and format using Fat32.
