ok, i preregistered for adsl with openworld way back when it was offering free installation, i recently moved into my own house so id like to get it installed,after this i recieved a confirmation email, however openworld have suggested that i need to wait for an invitation email to get it installed, now i know some of you have managed to hurry BT along on this sort of thing so does anyone have any tips/phone numbers etc for a poor hpb :E

Go to http://www.btopenworld.com and click get BTopenworld. If it recognises your number as being pre-registered, there is a good chance it will let you order online. It did with me anyway and I never had one of their non-existant invitation emails!.

I phoned Openworld and basically said that I had been unable to access my e-mail for a week now and that I think I may have received the invitation in the interim. You could also try calling their bluff and say that you have received the email. Also, don't necessarily accept the install date that they give you, push them for something sooner. Also, once you have a date, phone them on a daily basis to see if they have had any cancellations that you could occupy.

For your information, when I phoned up I didn't have an inviatation and I was given an install date about 3 weeks away. I initially accepted it, but called them a couple of days later and managed to get it brought foward by nearly 2 and half weeks. In the end, I was up and running on ADSL four days after I placed the order!

U may well have to wait up to 20mins for the 1st no. m8...sorry.....
I also ordered it when the site went live...way back in April or whenever m8, and I've also moved....just ring 'em up and if they haven't got yr details get very very angry, give 'em a bit of a blag and they'll sort it out for you....good luck.....it worked for me....
P.S. I'm getting it, fingers crossed, next Wedn but I rang up with a story I'd heard about someone getting a 4 day waiting time from phonecall to installation and they r gonna get back to me Thurs morning....hurray.
The secret is to keep phoning and hassling/checking them about yr order and they seem to buckle 'cos they know that they've been pissing ppl about...
