HELP! HELP!HELP!

I have adsl. I have a voodoo II
THE PROBLEM
Voodoo works fine alone, adsl works fine alone, when I try to use the voodoo and adsl together, my adsl diconects
Ive reinstalled both several times,,,,same story.
I ve tried changing settings in the device manager,,,same story.
How do I assigned my adsl its own IRQ.....device manager wont let me change irq,,,only output range......
please help I'm getting suicidel(or sumit like that)

Maybe try moving your voodoo 2 to another slot?

Find a free IRQ number, boot up and go into bios settings.

There will be an option in one of the menus that allows manual assigning of IRQ Nos relevant to which slot on motherboard. Set the Voodoo port to the free IRQ. If you don't know what port the voodoo is on, open puter up and look on motherboard. The PCI and ISA ports usually have "slot1" "slot2" etc next to them. If not, then take a guess! Usuall work from PCI to ISA - slot1 to slotn.

This sorted out loadsa probs I was having on various puters.

ok the latest
I've changed bios setting for voodoo irq,,,no joy
I've changed bios and memory range,,,,,no joy
FFS!!!!!!!!
ok I can play unreal online if I start in safe mode(no 3dfx) but as soon as my card kicks in I get disconnected
I think I've changed all there is to change and still no joy ,,,,O and yes I even put the card into a different slot
what do I have to do.....If I take it to a shop they spend 2 days doing everything Ive just done and charge me 50 quid an for the pleasure
Has anybody else got this prob??????????????

urm try this.
What irq is your usb on? It is most liklely on the same one as your V2. turn one of them off (disable it but dont remove it) in control panel. make sure you have a free irq, you could do this by disabling your lpt1 (printer) port in the bios, then re-enable the other device. it should try to use the free irq. basicly play around with turning on and off differant devices until it shifts the irq of usb or the V2 somwhere else. but dont remove the drivers or you'll spend ages messing around with driver disks.
also see if there are newer usb drivers for your mobo (espesially if its got a via chipset)

Had the same problem but mine was conficting with my WinTV card, so just removed that (No help to you I know). But it does solve the problem :) no more lock ups on starting windows :)

As they said ... sounds like an IRQ conflict - maybe disable the Com ports ... you probably won't be using them now that you have ADSL (unless you have a serial mouse) and that'll free up 2 IRQs ...

ok update
so far Ive changed all pci slots to free irq....no joy
reformatted and reinstalled everything..........no joy
changed memory ranges for usb and 3dfx..........no joy
still my adsl disconects whenever i use my voodooII

I cant take it to a shop....they dont have a dsl connection
tonight I will take my modem to a friends house and see if it works with his machine(he has adsl)

After that I suppose I will have to go and buy a new graphics card and hope that works....if not I'm f****d

and now for the bad news...

ok I got totally pissed off and decided to take out my 3dfx card.

Graphics were a bit crap ,,but hey,,am playing online.
thought Id change the resolution.....disconnected..............AAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

ok now I have ati expert agp card......surfing ..no problem ..napster no problem...icq..no problem..then I tried half life......disconnected ...FFS!!!!!!!!! what is going on .....does my board need replacing??? does somthing else need replacing

I dont know what else to do now
I do know that even if I change my windows resolution to high that also disconnects me

Come on guys I know someone out there has an answer
My head is messed up //I've been trying to sort this out for the last 8 days .....I need help????

I FIXED IT YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAA

well after trying everyway possible to sort this out I decided the only way was to rebuild my pc.
I took out all my cards except display.
Changed my bios to an older ver.
reinstalled my cards 1 by 1.
Lastly I installed the usb modem........sorted
