Feel 4 you's m8ties.
After all the hassles you've all had aswell. BasTads.
Seems they were well ambitious with only delaying it 4 months!!
It's like a bloody Yo-Yo....up/down, up/down, up/down etc.....and I haven't even got it till next week.....me has the 'fear' now......and this was just the experience I had from Shiva's conn............hoo-bloody-ray!!
Day three 14.25: BT informs me that the recent HG1 and HG6 problems have been rectified.....anyone confirm these rumours?
Please confirm away _ I'm finally due for install tomorrow (Thursday) and don't want to waste hours trying to get a non-working ISP connection up and running.
Thanks in advance.
Confused (Q3F) and Counterstrike newbie :)

Guys,
I'm on HG1 and since I had ADSL installed on 29th September it's worked for 1 whole day !!!
BT are utterly useless, not only that but I’m having to pay to use my ISP and to call their technical help line.
Have any of you guys seen the BT Openworld advert in Magazines which says, "Why wait for things to download, get ADSL". Well I have ADSL and I’ve been waiting 3 weeks for BT to sort themselves out and fix my line.
Is there anyone who logs onto HG1 server that has a working connection ??
I'm hg1 and <touch wood> I've had no problems connecting to it for about 6 or 7 weeks
Son't worry Sundance m8, I've been "connected" since 12 midday but only had an hour of real connection.
It's down at the mo as well!!:(
Arrrgh!!! B(ig) T(hief) are f@cking sh1t!!! Almost every day there is a period when i can't connect. I am paying £40 a month and there seem to be problems everyday with this hg1 bollox. Man, roll on LLU. Roll on the end of my years contract. What annoys me most is they don't even seem apologetic on the help desk, and in the contract it says no compensation will be given.
It seems to be the same fault reappearing again and again.....do they not learn from their mistakes?
Now where is that OFTEL link?
Ah there it is....

I'm almost the same as muf i guess. I'm on HG1, but I've only had about 3 occasions when I couldn't connect, and that was all sorted within 30-60mins. I'm worried though...who knows what might happen :( Hope they sort it
If you cant connect to ADSL try re-booting and typing your username and password in again before connecting. Apparently sometimes your modem just doesnt pick up that the service is working again.
My mate also has ADSL, got it the same time as me, we have same exchange, same town..he lives about a mile away from me..sometimes mine works and his doesnt.
I got on this morning before work (yeah OK sad I know, but it's still very new to me) so for the record
Day 4 7.30: HG1 Accessable <-----watch this space:(
Oh yeah got a Q3 clan match tonight, it would be nice to be able to use my shiny new connection :D
I have a number for the BT Openworld Chairman's office. I was given it by BT Complaints review service and I urge all peeps who have been having connection problems to give them a ring. There is no waiting, and they seem very helpful. Mine was the first complaint of this nature they had recieved, so lets make sure they recieve a few more, so it gets escalate.
Damn forgot the number...D'oh! :homer:

Nice one Shiva
Maybe you should add that number to your tagline, cos I understand that Openworld are not regulated by OFTEL as they do not provide telephony services as defined by the regulator.
Nice wee copout that for BT.
Might be worth seeing if trading standards have anything to say about an always-on service that is rarely on tho.

Shiva,
You mentioned earlier that there is no way you can get a refund.
Well, my ADSL service hasn't worked for 2 whole weeks and if BT think i'm gonna carry on paying out for something I can't even access they can think again.
Not to mention, Technial help line charges, ISP costs and my wasted time !!!
I've had a whole 1 day working ADSL access since Sept 29th - 1 day out of 3 anoying weeks !!!!!!
Man, in that case I'm sure you will have some luck. Phone the number in my sig...they seem appalled when you tell them how bad the general customer service is. I know 2 peeps (me and len) who have phoned them and have both been happy with the outcome.
Bring out the dancing girls....after calls to the chairman's office etc i got a linetest done in 24hrs and hoo-bloody-ray......I PASSED!!!
Now they tell me they've got probs with the engineers install order system, what a surprise. Sooooooo I'm on the phone now seeing whether I can sort that one out.....
We're getting there but god the effort.........
Bring out the dancing girls....
/me dances....

We'll I've just had a call from a very nice fella from BTOpenworld who called because I'd been having problems with their service.
I now understand what the problem is.....
The server asigns our PCs with an IP address every time we connect, when we disconnect it's wiped, unlike Cable Modem IPs that are static (for a set period of time anyway). For some reason the server isn't "forgetting" about these IPs oncce logged off so after a period of time the IP address cache get filled.
To remedy this as a temp solution they are rebooting the servers at 6.00am every morning.
MMmmmm just for info I spose

me thinks trade descriptions act means BT are being illegal!
Always on internet= not on?
seems a lie to me!
Big D, if that is the case then I must have a different problem. If i cannot connect, I try again say an hour later. I can then sometimes connect. Surely if the cache is full then I shouldn't be able to connect at all?
Night before last I couldn't connect till after midnight. Surely the closer you get to 6am the harder it would be to connect?
me thinks its more BT BS.

Shiva,
I'm beginning to think that also.
BT held back the roll out of ADSL to further test the equipment. Looks like that was a pack of lies also.
Why did BT discover this problem so late, any fool could have figured that would happen if they configured it like mentioned above.
Jeez, such amateurs !!!
P.S - If the Servers are reset at 6am then at that time we all should be able to connect with no problems. So why then is it not like that - oh it's BT, thats why !!!!
