Hi guys,

I'm building a Drivers section for File Monster (http://files.gameplay.com/) - the idea is to cover all of the mainstream drivers with good quality documentation etc to provide one place where you can grab the drivers you need.

At the moment we've got...
Detonator 2
Detonator 3
DirectX 7.0a
What other drivers do you think we should host? We're not going to host anything too obscure (I might put it on our FTP server if you ask nicely but I don't think it's worth listing on the site) but mainstream suggestions would be welcome.

Plus you guys know a hell of a lot more about drivers than I do :{

Suggestions welcome here or on This Thread (http://forums.gameplay.com/showthread.php?threadid=187430).

Cheers,

Skunk

Yeah need Voodoo drivers and S3/Diamond drivers, how about some Matrox ones as well?

Right, for Graphics cards:

Voodoo 2,3,4,5 & Banshee
Nvidia Det 3
Matrox G400
Ati Radeon, Rage 128 (Pro), All in Wonder
S3 Reference drivers for Savage4, Savage2000 and other Savage chipsets
And thats all thats worth getting atm. It might an idea to get some for on-board devices like the Intel 810/815 etc as well.

Some sound card drivers would be nice as well:

Creative PCI 16/64/128/512
Creative SB-Live
Aureal A3D drivers
Videologic SonicFury (which I think is going to be big in the not too distant future :) )
Best put some on for on-board rubbish as well like Intel 810, Via AC97 codec and similar for AMD & SiS Chipsets

Some motherboard drivers would be good....

Intel 810/815/820/840
Via 4in1
Ali AGP/IDE/IRQ drivers
SiS (If you're desperate  )
AMD AGP/IDE/IRQ drivers

Modems? Theres rather a lot so that might be difficult. However, putting some major brands on there would be good like:

Diamond
Motorola
Creative
3Com/USR
Hayes
Elsa

Finally I reckon it would be good to put some drivers for control devices on there as well such as:

MS Sidewinder joysticks & wheels
MS Intellipoint Software
Logitech equivilent of Intellipoint & also joystick/wheel drivers
Guillemot joystick/wheel drivers
Gravis joystick/pad drivers
Saitek, thrustmaster, CH... thats all I can think of right now but I'm sure you get the idea :)

I hope this helps

It might be a good idea to put a little paragraph in explaining what reference drivers are. When I first got my PC I was confused as hell about that.

Good idea, what about Beta drivers, personally I would say don't bother, but it's got to be a consideration I spose:D

I'm making sure it's very clear which driver is for which operating system :) - I'd rather not get involved with beta drivers as they're a lot of hassle and there's a chance they'll screw up some newbie's machine...
