i was on the verge of giving up campaigning for a poetry/creative writing forum, i log on from work, and oh my lord, we have a poetry forum. i am blessed by such amazing gameplay staff (i think i have TK to thank for this one though!)

well, my intentions for such a forum as this! i know for a fact we have some amazing writers, poets, and so forth within the vast wireplay family, the first task will be alerting them of this forum, and increasing its status within the existing community, we will be mocked, we will suffer for our passions, but nobody ever acheived perfection, without falling on their knees.

once we have had the expected influx of monkees, mocking our forum, and trying to break us, i am hoping that this forum will become a haven for sharing, productivity, and intelligence, once we have established grounds on which to build, i intend, to bring in as many 'non-gameplay' culture lovers, i myself know a good few, but if anyone who intends to use this forum as it is intended so, please spread the word amongst the like minded.

this forum will most likely, never be huge, but with loyalty and inspiration, and a brutally honest passion, we cannot fail.

and now for my first piece of creative writing for this forum, written yesterday afternoon, as yet untitled;

---------------------
i'm upping anchor and setting sail
sea secrets cannot tame white horses
as they gallop and fall as they ride
and up and over we go
up and over
---------------------

i've never been a great writer of longer prose, my personal preference being in obscurity, meanings within each letter of every word, poetry, writing, creativity is my passion, and to finally have somewhere to share, is truly wonderful.

i wrote the above while sat at my desk, contemplating my next move, as it were. like an amused chess piece, colour blind and confused. it refers to upping roots, moving away from safe harbour, stepping into the unknown and the wild, knowledge is obsolete, as the waves crash and erase. and up and over we go.

i could create for hours, write meandering and meaningless words, but sadly, i must away.

here's to the growth and success of the gameplay poetry forum, may she prosper within those who adore her, and may those who use, be filled with her wealth.

farewell :)

There was a bit of poetry that I remember from school. From a book of "War poems" I believe. One of the lines in it went something like:

"She stood at the door, a twelve year old darling"

It was about a child waving goodbye to the soldiers on their way to the front lines. One of the very few bits of poetry that I remember enjoying.

Does anybody recognize it, or know where I can search it out? A long shot I know, but I thought I'd ask. :)
