A question regarding lag

On one of those serving thingies, I heard a young chap saying that his game "sucked cos of the crap lag on his modem".

Should I be insulating my modem too? Will any old lagging do or does one have to buy a special type?

While you could splash out on lagging your modem, you'll probably find it cheaper, quicker and easier to just drop your modem into something already lagged.

Like the hot water tank.

(Note that this may invalidate the warranty)

Unless of course you have electric storage heaters, in which case it's fine.
